The Flagstaff Hill walking trail will have spectacular and breathtaking views and will no doubt become one of the Shire’s most popular attractions for locals and visitors.
It will follow the contours of Flagstaff Hill and includes lookouts to Double Island, Four Mile Beach, Low Isles, Snapper Island and the Daintree Rainforest.
“The trail is sure to become one of the Douglas Shire’s most popular attractions for locals and visitors,” according to Douglas Shire Mayor Julia Leu.
“It links Four Mile Beach with the waterfront and marina and adds to many terrific amenities in the Douglas Shire. Council will also reinstall the original Flagstaff on the site, as a separate project,” Mayor Leu said.
The State Government has contributed $550,000 to the Flagstaff Hill Walking Trail under its Works 4 Queensland program.
